“If you truly love nature, you will find beauty in everything”
– Vincent van Gogh
Creating a nursery for our child was such an unforgettable experience. Each and every detail was important and we could not be happier with our final result. It is actually the first room in the house that I truly personalized from top to bottom. We just love spending time in there and the woodland theme is both peaceful and inspiring.

The wallpaper and the furniture are my favorite things in the room. The wallpaper is very popular and once I saw it on Pinterest, I was sold! It was a costly addition to the space, but it really has such an impact. The room already has high ceilings, and this Cole & Son “Woods” wallpaper makes it feel like it reaches the sky. It’s a beautiful warm white and would go well with really any decor colour.

The furniture was really a happy accident. I went to the store with my wonderful Grandma with the intention of buying another set, but as I walk in, the girl was assembling this ED by Ellen Degeneres “Forest Animal” chifforobe and I couldn’t take my eyes off of it! Our nursery lacks a closet, so this piece is exactly what we needed. Honestly, could it be more perfect for a woodland theme? We didn’t know if we were having a girl or boy at this point, but this furniture made me hope for a girl. Thanks Grandma for helping us purchase this amazing furniture. We love it so much!
The details in the space make an important impact as well. The Lolli Living “Sparrow” linens, mobile, floor mat and pillows all follow the theme. It so intriguing to me that its adorned with birds which have coincidentally become her absolute favorite animal. She has yet to see her first deer, but I imagine she will love those too. The rocking reclining chair (Valentine Swivel Reclining Glider from Wayfair) is one of the best purchases we made. So unbelievably comfortable, and trust me, I have spent many nights in that chair. The framed art is very special to us as it was made by Annabel’s uncle, Woodcut Prints by Graham Blair. We love the touch of black of the frames and the art pieces. Finally, the blackout curtains were made by me and the bird finials (from Wayfair) are such a cool little detail that gets a lot of praise.
A love of nature is such an important value to pass down to our children and this beautiful nursery is already helping to shape our young daughter’s character. I hope you have the pleasure of creating a space for your children too. Now I’m even more excited for baby number two…
