A different kind of first birthday this year for our second babe, but we focused on those little details to make the day just as special as we could. Due to health regulations, we could only have ten of our closest family attend and we had to do it outside, and Mother Nature wanted it to rain, so carport party it is. 😝
Minimal decor was needed because it was only the carport that needed decor so that made my prep a lot easier. I made a “watch me grow” 12 month photo frame, a best of the year collage frame, and used our local daffodils (perfectly in season). We grabbed some balloons, plates and napkins from a local party store and there you have it, decor was done! I revamped Annabel’s highchair skirt we used for her first by adding some greenery and little white flowers.
Dadda showed off his baking skills with a homemade lemon cake with a lemon curd and buttercream filling. The edible cake decorations blew everyone away. The only thing that wasn’t edible was the little tiny antenna on the insects. Everything else was buttercream or gum paste and hand made by him. He also did some spring inspired sugar cookies for an easy take home treat for our guests.

A day spent with our closest family was special and I really wouldn’t want to celebrate Buggy’s first birthday any other way. Thanks everyone for sharing this day with us.
